FACEBOOK: “Like” us with just a click!

Let’s “face” it; nobody is on “Facebook” morning, noon, and night. Sometimes it does seem like your BFF posts updates 24/7, but in reality we all have a life outside of Facebook. Well, Facebook is changing all that and is putting people at the center of the Web. As part of their new platform, you’ll begin noticing more personalized and social experiences on OTHER websites besides Facebook (e.g., NYTimes.com, CNN.com, SuccessAndProgress.com, etc.). These websites use following tools called social plugins.
The “Like” button — with the thumbs up hand — is appearing on websites covering a wide range of industries and tastes. On some sites you’ll see a “Recommend” button instead of a “Like” button, but the principle is the same. Both Facebook and the corporations using the “Like” button are confident it will increase brand awareness and result in sales. The more clicks, the more the word is spread! In fact, the average FB user clicks “Like” on nine pieces of various content every month.
Here’s how it works.
If you enjoyed one of our informative blogs on SuccessAndProgress.com, all you need to do to share your interest is to click the “Like” button located at the bottom of every blog. If you’re already registered with Facebook, you can show your friends which blog drew your attention the most! A comment will appear on your News Feed and a link to the blog will be added under your Profile > Info tab.
If you decide you are no longer interested in one of our blogs, you can always remove the connection by clicking “Unlike.” This must be done on the original site (not on Facebook). This way you are always in control of the content you “LIKE” or “UNLIKE.”
